Record commitment and the freezeout front
A crystallisation front sweeping the sphere: patches flip from live shimmer to fixed, committed facets and the boundary is visible.
The relation on screen
A process freezes when its rate drops below the rate at which the schedule moves on, the same criterion as decoupling.
Symbols
- acceptance parameter of the schedule, an inverse temperature analogue
- committed fraction, patches whose record no longer changes
- repair action rate per cycle

what to look for · Cages stop flickering patch by patch. The pattern standing at f_com → 1 is the pattern the sky spectrum reads in V31.
Consensus to physics
- 01repair drives disagreement down while the acceptance parameter rises
- 02records that survive the cold end stop changing
- 03the committed fraction rises to one
- 04the surviving pattern is frozen and can be read later
In standard physics
Decoupling, the surface of last scattering
A process that was fast compared to the schedule becomes slow, and the pattern present at that moment is preserved for good.
boundary · The acceptance parameter is a schedule value. It plays the role of a temperature in the annealing analogy but carries no physical units, and the freezeout cycle carries no redshift.
